Robbinsdale Garage Art - Lucille Ball
If you should ever find yourself eating a Dilly Bar at the Robbinsdale Dairy Queen, take a walk to the back of the parking lot and look across the alley. There you will see a stucco garage, just like you would see in most of Robbinsdale. Except this garage has a wood plank where the window would be, and for at least the past few years the owners of this property have been painting black and white portraits of female entertainment icons on that plank of wood. I believe last year it was Patsy Cline, and the year before that it was Janis Joplin. I think each portrait stays up for about a year, and then every Spring a new icon is added. Why do they do this? When did it start? How do they decide who to put up each year? These are all good questions folks, and someday when I have that information, I will share it with you.
